Conservationists transfer to a leased line

Leased line provider Managed Comms has gained another satisfied customer after responding to an enquiry from the British Trust of Ornithology (BTO). The conservation institution, which previously used a 2Mbps connection for its data needs, selected a leased line from Managed Comms after being impressed by the level of service on offer from the company.

The deal, which was signed last month, sees the BTO receive 30Mbps through a leased line. The move offers the society a connection which, while being substantially more efficient, is priced the same as their existing connection.

A Managed Comms representative said that the BTO were visibly impressed by leased line costs as well as the dedicated account management and technical support on offer.

Like all our customers, the BTO will also enjoy a 99.9 per cent service level agreement that ensures subscribers receive the speeds they have paid for. Moreover, the line is fully monitored by technical staff to ensure a consistent upload and download rate.

The BTO, which was founded in 1932, researches trends and patterns affecting some of the UK's rarest birds. The society investigates changes to the population levels in a number of endangered species, as well as providing recommendations on conservation methods.

The recent acquisition of a leased line will allow the BTO to continue its important research without worrying about upload or download transfer speeds. If you'd like to learn more about a leased line, and what benefits it could bring your organisation, contact of the team at Managed Comms.
