» Leased lines from Managed Communications guarantee speeds
Monday, April 26 2010Leased lines recommended by industry body
Independent study demands speed benchmark for UK ISPs
Leased lines from Managed Communications already comply to new recommendations from the Federation of Small Businesses, which call on ISPs to deliver a minimum connection speed of 8Mbps to all company premises.
The organisation has encouraged the government to enforce download and upload benchmarks following a survey which suggested that small businesses across the United Kingdom were not being provided with an adequate internet connection. A leased line from Managed Communications, which guarantees 99.9 per cent SLA, would already comply with any new regulation regarding connection transfer rates.
A spokesperson for the Federation of Small Businesses said: "These figures show that the broadband service provided to small firms is letting them down. Small businesses need fast and reliable broadband to ensure the UK remains a key player in the global economy."
An increasing number of businesses have subscribed to a Managed Communications leased line in order to benefit from the guaranteed upload and download speeds. The connection, which can be installed and operational within 15 days, provides organisations with a dedicated and reliable line to the internet. A Managed Communications leased line also utilises state-of-the-art technology to ensure the service is one of the quickest on the market.
Many small businesses are turning to a leased line subscription in order to avoid the unreliable speeds of a broadband connection. Unlike other providers, a Managed Communications connection is priced on bandwidth rather than distance, ensuring the line is up to 50 per cent cheaper.
