UK broadband speeds discovered in new survey

Broadband speeds in the UK have performed poorly in a new global study. The investigation, conducted by an online research firm, found the average upload and download speeds in the country were below a number of other nations such as Latvia and Romania.

The average speed in the UK was recorded at 3.7Mbps. South Korea ranked as the best country in the world with speeds of 11.7Mbps, while the United States came 22nd with a national average of 3.8Mbps.

This report highlights growing concerns that the UK's economy will suffer because of a poor digital infrastructure. Indeed, many businesses and organisations have elected to subscribe to a dedicated leased line or bonded ADSL precisely to combat slow data transfer rates.

Managed Comms offers companies speeds of up to 10Gbps through a leased line connection. This type of service, which operates under a 99.9 per cent service level agreement, guarantees users a dedicated and reliable internet line.

Furthermore, many companies are discovering that a leased line is a strikingly cost-effective alternative to a fixed line broadband connection. A Managed Comms leased line is priced on bandwidth speed, rather than distance, allowing customers to pay up to a third less than other varieties.

Contact one of the Managed Comms team to discover more about the leased line options on offer. A member of our technical staff will be able to explain the variety of services available and even provide a preliminary quote for connecting your business.
